Corrections-Based Support: Living in Freedom Today (LIFT)

LIFT is a six-month Intensive Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program, using a variety of evidence-based/informed curricula, that assists individuals in examining core beliefs, attitudes, and thought processes that may lead them to act in an asocial, antisocial or criminal manner. The program extensively addresses pro-social skill development and provides opportunity to practice these skills through the use of activities, surveys, discussion, homework, role-playing and lectures.

LIFT participation begins with a program orientation, a Motivational Interviewing class to identify the participant's current stage of change and program responsivity, and the RDAP Orientation module. Groups learn program expectations and begin to recognize barriers that block progress toward change.

Case managers assist participants to identify personal and program goals with an emphasis on change, focus on participating in programs and activities that support those goals, and assist with transition needs for successful community re-entry.
