Moving criminal justice-involved individuals from incarceration to successful integration into the community requires an understanding that they are in control of their lives. Those who believe they are being controlled by outside influences are less likely to take responsibility for their behavior and choices; lasting change is unlikely. The closer one moves to an internal locus of control, the more likely one will live pro-socially in the community.
Each After-Care module consists of various elements to reflect various learning styles. The modules include lecture, activities, discussion and workbook-style lessons combined with the use of multi-media and kinesthetic tools. Groups are provided in the prisons after completion of training and in some local communities.
